Desert Tortoise Predator-Prey Dynamics Phase 2

Additional Comments:

The initial Contract amount was $1,445,889.01, Amendment No. 1 had no fiscal impact, Amendment No. 2 will have no fiscal impact.

 

BACKGROUND: 

On October 18, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 606225-22 for Desert Tortoise Predator-Prey Dynamics Phase 2 to U.S. Geological Survey in the amount of $1,445,889.01 for research to gain more insights into the role of disease affecting the coyote, jackrabbit and desert tortoise populations in the Boulder City Conservation Easement.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Agreement:

                     The term of the Agreement was from date of award through June 24, 2024, and included the option to                      renew for 1 renewal option through December 31, 2026.
                     Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Agreement                      with advanced written notice.

Amendment No. 1 provided for updates to the deliverable due dates.

Approval of Amendment No. 2 will add 2 one-year renewal options to the Agreement term.  The attached Amendment No. 2 document details the modifications involved.
