BACKGROUND:

Section 501.260 of the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) establishes a county Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife consisting of five or seven members. The Clark County Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife (CCABMW) of seven members serves in an advisory capacity to the Nevada State Board of Wildlife Commissioners by soliciting and evaluating local opinion on matters relating to the management of wildlife in Clark County and the State of Nevada. Pursuant to NRS sections 501.265-501.275, the Board of County Commissioners appoints qualified individuals who are residents of the county to the CCABMW.

There is one vacancy on the CCABMW for a person who is a hunter, trapper, or angler, or who is engaged in ranching or farming, that is currently filled by Dan Gilbert. His term is due to expire on July 16, 2025, and he is the only person who applied for this opening after it was advertised and posted on the county website from May 23, 2025, to June 20, 2025.

Staff requests the Board approve the reappointment of Vice Chair Dan Gilbert for another three-year term beginning on July 16, 2025, and ending on July 17, 2028.
