BACKGROUND:
The District has an annual requirement to purchase new vehicles to meet its operational needs. Each year, staff assesses the current fleet of vehicles to determine which ones should be decommissioned due to age or high mileage. This ensures sufficient transportation options for District staff and maintains continuous operations. Having an adequate supply of vehicles is crucial for supporting daily activities.
On July 1, 2025, the State of Nevada and its Authorized Body awarded Contracts 99SWC-NV25-25623 and 99SWC-NV25-25630 for Ford Vehicles to Valley Automotive Group dba Ford Country (Ford Country) and Silver State Ford dba Gaudin Ford (Gaudin Ford). Utilizing these State of Nevada contracts will allow the District to benefit from volume discounts, resulting in lower costs, to meet its need to procure new vehicles. During the current FY25/26, the District plans to purchase approximately thirteen (13) new Ford vehicles, including pick-up trucks, SUVs, and cars.
Staff recommends that the Board authorize the General Manager to utilize the State of Nevada Contract Nos. 99SWC-NV25-25623 with Ford Country and 99SWC-NV25-25630 with Gaudin Ford, for the purchase of Ford vehicles.
The following are pertinent provisions of the agreement:
• The initial term of the contract is from the date of award through June 30, 2027, and/or as extended by the State of Nevada, with a price increase not to exceed 10% for each year of the contract term;
• The agreement includes the option to terminate or suspend for cause or convenience with advance written notice of intent.
NRS 332.195(1)(b) allows public agencies to use the contracts of the State of Nevada or another state with the authorization of the contracting vendor. Ford Country and Gaudin Ford have authorized the District to use the contracts in order to take advantage of the competitive pricing offered to public agencies. Clark County Business License has determined that Ford Country (LBE) and Gaudin Ford (LBE), do not require a business license or business registration.
