Description:

Agreement between FEMA and Clark County for Emergency Alerts

Additional Comments:

FEMA is responsible for the costs associated with developing, operating and maintaining the availability of the system.

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of the memorandum is to establish a management agreement between Clark County and FEMA regarding the utilization and security of Clark County Interoperable System(s) which interoperate with IPAWS-Open Platform for emergency networks.  This will allow the County to push emergency alert and warning messages over IPAWS, Wireless Alert System and social media.

The initial agreement was signed on January 28, 2015. This renewal replaces the recently expired agreement and supports a critical capability for public emergency communication.

Clark County Legal Counsel has reviewed and approved the attached agreement.
