On May 4, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved the contract award of Bid No. 605758-20 in the amount of $52,425,000 to Fisher Sand and Gravel Co. for the Laughlin - Bullhead City Bridge Needles Highway in Laughlin to State Route 95, Bullhead City, Arizona project, for construction of a five-span 724 foot long prestressed concrete girder bridge over the Colorado River between Laughlin, Nevada and Bullhead City, Arizona; a 3.5 mile two-lane approach roadway in Nevada from Needles Highway to the Colorado River Bridge; and a 0.2 mile approach roadway in Arizona from the western terminus of the Bullhead City Parkway, west of State Route 95, to the Colorado River Bridge.
Change Order No. 2 for $2,485,809.07 increases the total project funding to $56,947,235.07, providing funds for a settlement agreement that was reached between Clark County Public Works Department and Fisher Sand and Gravel Co. on August 20, 2025. This construction change order represents a full and final settlement with Fisher Sand and Gravel Co. for impacts that resulted in variations in the river depth and all other impacts to the project, and provides the funding necessary for this agreement.
