BACKGROUND: 

Clark County  has completed design and has begun construction for the park located on Lebaron Avenue and Lindell Road.

In compliance with the uniform guidelines and Clark County policy for naming a park, Commissioner Jones' office held a park naming contest in coordination with 4th grade students at Ries Elementary School to name the park and received more than 100 entries.  Commissioner Jones' office is recommending the name of the new park to be "Battle Born Park" which reflects the ideals of our state.

This item was presented to the County's Long Range Planning Committee on January 10, 2024, and approval was obtained.

Staff recommends approval of this request.
