Approve and authorize the use of Designated Defense Security Services, an established Clark County vendor, to provide for security guard services for Commercial Center located at 953 E Sahara Ave, 925 E Sahara Ave and 900 Liberace Ave; and authorize the creation of a security office at 900 Liberace Ave., Suite C-109, pay for needed tenant improvements and monthly operational expenses for security office space and authorize the Director of Operations to sign any necessary documents for establishing the security office or take other action as appropriate. BACKGROUND:
Commercial Center sits at 953 E Sahara Ave just west of Maryland Pkwy. Buildings located at 925 E Sahara Ave and 900 Liberace Ave. within the center are owned by the Clark County Redevelopment Agency while the adjacent parking lot to the 40 +/- acre shopping center is owned and maintained by sister agency, Clark County. This will add much needed 24-hour armed and marked security guard services to the parking lot and for the two buildings. Due to the 24-hour nature of the security services, we are establishing a dedicated security office in 900 Liberace Ave. C-109 to support operations of the new security program.
FY25 Designated Defense Security Services: $1,108,403
FY25 Security Office Operations: $60,000 ($5,000 x 12 months)
FY25 Security Office Tenant Improvements: $$6,500 (one-time expense)
FY25 Security Office Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment: $3,500 (one-time expense)
