BACKGROUND:

On December 16, 2024 Clark County Family Services (CCFS) received notice from the State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child and Family Services of its intent to award ARPA funds to fund behavioral, mental and medical services for children and youth with IDD.

This award will:
   • provide comprehensive services for children and youth with IDD;

   • ensure children and youth receiving residential services also have their behavioral, mental health and medical needs met; and

   • provide funds to relocate and expand behavioral and mental health services from a West Charleston location to newly secured locations with expanded services and level of care capacity for all children and youth.

The award process for this grant differs from the normal grant application process as funding is available from the State and passed through to CCFS without application or competitive process.  In addition, it is not known in advance about any funds availability until an award letter is received from the State.

Staff requests that the Board ratify and approve the acceptance of any funds awarded.
