BACKGROUND: 

A visitor to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (“UMC”) commenced a premises liability action against UMC in Clark County District Court on August 16, 2024. 

In order to resolve the District Court action against UMC, UMC seeks approval to settle the action for the total amount of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000), inclusive of all attorney’s fees and costs, with no admission of wrongdoing, and to mitigate the unknown costs of protracted litigation.  The settlement is recommended by UMC Administration and UMC’s Office of General Counsel.
