Description:

Interlocal Agreement for Child Death Review - Data Collection, Coordination & Annual Report

Additional Comments:

Amendment No. 1 will increase the Agreement amount by not to exceed $26,609, for a new total Agreement amount not to exceed $185,699

 

BACKGROUND: 

On February 7, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 606406-22 for Interlocal Agreement for Child Death Review - Data Collection, Coordination & Annual Report to Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education, on behalf of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (NBE) in the amount not to exceed $159,090 for child death review, including data collection, coordination & annual report.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Agreement:

                     The term of the Agreement was from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 and included the option to                      renew for 4, one-year periods.  There is 1 renewal option remaining.
                     Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Agreement                      with advanced written notice.

Approval of Amendment No. 1 will provide for an increase in caseload.  The attached Amendment No. 1 document details the modifications and costs involved.

The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 277.180. The parties are authorized to enter into interlocal contracts to perform governmental functions and activities.
