BACKGROUND: 

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Sunset Road between Durango Drive and Decatur Boulevard - Phase 1 project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2026.

Interlocal Contract No. 3237 provides funds for construction of the subject project. The improvements include pavement widening and restriping along the project alignment to provide a minimum of two travel lanes in either direction and three travel lanes in each direction in areas where existing right-of-way and improvements allow. The design is at least 90 percent complete, and all necessary right-of-way to construct the project has been obtained. The time of performance is effective until December 31, 2030, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC has prepared Interlocal Contract No. 3237 for the Board's consideration. RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on November 13, 2025.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
