BACKGROUND:

The State of Nevada, Department of Business and Industry, Nevada Housing Division (NHD) is the administering agency for the Low-Income Housing Trust Fund (Trust Fund) established in 1989 to fund low-income housing activities.  Clark County Social Service (CCSS) has received funding for the Welfare Set-Aside Program (WSAP) since 1994. One of the Trust Fund's major project areas is for welfare activities. WSAP provides housing related assistance to eligible individuals whose incomes is at or below the federally designated poverty level.

CCSS has applied for $747,233.81. If awarded, the WSAP grant will allow CCSS to disperse funds to eligible households under the WSAP criteria and funds in the amount of $747,233.81 will be made available to CCSS for its 2021/2022 fiscal year Welfare Set-Aside Community Grant Program.

Due to the short turn-around time to submit the application, a ratification is being requested.

The item has been approved as to form by the District Attorney’s office.
