BACKGROUND: 

Valley Electric Association, Inc. has applied for a Broadband Provider Franchise to provide broadband services within the County. This Agreement would allow Valley Electric to install, maintain and operate its facilities in the County rights-of-way. In exchange, Valley Electric would pay the County 2% of gross revenue from broadband services. The term of the Agreement is five years with two five-year extensions.   

The Board is requested to approve the attached Broadband Provider Franchise Agreement with Valley Electric Association, Inc.
