BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Red Rock Legacy Trail Undercrossing at State Route 159 project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2026.

Interlocal Contract No. 3250 provides funds for design of the subject project. The project will provide a continuous trail connection between the Legacy Trail parking area at the southeast corner of Charleston Boulevard (SR 159) and Sky Vista Drive to the Legacy Trail system on the north side, eliminating the need for pedestrians and cyclists to cross State Route 159 at-grade. The term of the contract is effective until June 30, 2031, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC has prepared Interlocal Contract No. 3250 for the Board's consideration. RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on February 12, 2026.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
