BACKGROUND:

On January 17, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners approved the initial agreement with The Boring Company to provide Clark County Fire Department with equipment and staffing in support of its underground transportation system which is the Vegas Loop.

The amendment to the initial agreement will provide the Clark County Fire Department with more flexibility to utilize temporary staffing, permanent staffing, or an independent contractor to complete the tasks outlined in the original agreement depending upon staffing availability and need. In all cases, the annual cost for this staffing will not exceed $218,000 to The Boring Company.

Personnel will be used primarily for the protection of public safety in connection with the Vegas Loop Project.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the agreement as to form.
