BACKGROUND:

The Desert Inn Road from 1,250 feet West of Cimarron Road to Bronco Street project is a cooperative effort between Clark County and the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), of which NDOT intends to delegate authority to the County to design, advertise, and manage construction of the project.  Improvements will include milling and installing 1-inch UTACS (Ultra Thin Asphalt Concrete Surfacing), installing ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) conduit and pull box, traffic signal modifications, pavement markings, and other related items of work within the unincorporated area of Clark County, Nevada.

The total project cost is $8,947,368.  The agreement with NDOT is $8,500,000, which has been approved for 95% Federal Congressional Designated funding.  The County is required to pay $447,368, which includes the 5% match of the federal contribution for the completion of this project. The Cooperative (Local Public Agency) Highway Agreement No. PR148-26-063 formalizes this requirement and identifies the responsibilities of both the County and NDOT.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the cooperative agreement as to form.
