BACKGROUND:
On February 15, 2021, State of Minnesota awarded Sourcewell Contract No. 010521-LSI for Playground and Water Play Equipment with Related Accessories and Services to Landscape Structures, Inc. (OBE). This approval provides for playground and water play equipment with related accessories and services.
A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved because playground and water play equipment (WEP) are an integral component to many County facilities and parks. Recent projects with playgrounds and WEPs are being specified as the basis of design by our consultants and many existing locations are utilizing LSI products. Having the ability to participate in this program and procure materials from Landscape Structures, Inc. (LSI) directly will greatly benefit the County and community by being diligent in managing taxpayer funds in a deliberate manner that facilitates greater project budget adherence opportunities, guarantee of future maintenance consistency, ensuring product performance is uniform at all locations, and will help mitigate certain procurement/schedule delays.
The following are the pertinent provisions of this approval:
• The term of the Contract being utilized is from February 15, 2021 through February 17, 2025, the contract is on an extension that expires February 17, 2026.
