BACKGROUND:

The Clark County Office of Clinical and Community Services (CCS) received Notice of Sub-Award for grant funds from the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services Grants Management Unit for the purpose of providing case management and services to families referred to Differential Response.

Approval of this item will allow for the continuation of contractual services with local agencies trained in Differential Response Services to engage with families by providing assessments and resources that would be preventative in nature so that entry into the child welfare system would not be necessary.

The award process for this grant differs from the normal grant application process as funds are made available to CCS without competitive process.  In addition, it is not known in advance about funding availability until an award letter is received from the state.

Staff requests the Board approve and ratify the acceptance of the attached grant award.
