BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Durango Drive Rehabilitation between Russell Road and Tropicana Avenue project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2026.

Interlocal Contract No. 3274 provides funds for construction of the subject project consisting of arterial street improvements on Durango Drive between Russell Road and Tropicana Avenue, and intersection improvements at Fort Apache Road and Tompkins Avenue, and Tropicana Avenue and Conquistador Street. The work to be performed included pavement removal and replacement, sidewalk ramp reconstruction to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ASA) standards, permanent striping and signing, utility adjustments and storm drain improvements. The design for the project was funded by Clark County. The design is at least 90 percent complete, and all necessary right-of-way to construct the project has been obtained. The term of the contract is effective until June 30, 2031, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC has prepared Interlocal Contract No. 3274 for the Board's consideration. RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on June 11, 2026.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
