BACKGROUND:
GCW, Inc. (Corporation) designed a flood control conveyance facility to convey storm water runoff from the west side of Casino Drive to the Colorado River. After construction of the facility, sedimentation occurred after discharge into the river. To mitigate this sedimentation, Public Works desires to have the design consultant, GCW, Inc., to perform engineering services to determine and design facilities to reduce or eliminate the sedimentation. GCW, Inc. performed the design of the stilling basin and has the history and an understanding of the environmental permitting requirements, which is needed to address the sedimentation concerns.
County staff negotiated the attached professional services contract with GCW, Inc. The contract describes the services to be provided and stipulated terms. The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2023. GCW, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
Pursuant to Nevada Revised Statute 332.115(1)(b), contracts for professional services are not adapted to award by competitive bidding and, therefore, are exempt from the bidding requirements.
The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the contract as to form.
