BACKGROUND:
The District Laboratory utilizes equipment and supplies, which includes, but is not limited to, chromatography supplies, glassware, small instruments, reagents, filters, and microbial media to perform daily analytical testing necessary to meet regulatory guidelines. To ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations and maintain critical processes, the District must have a readily available source for the equipment and supplies.
On June 15, 2021, the University of California, as the Lead Agency in conjunction with the OMNIA Partners, awarded Agreement No. 2021002889 for General Laboratory Supplies to Fisher Scientific Company, LLC. The ability to utilize the University of California/OMNIA Partners agreement will satisfy the District's need for laboratory equipment and supplies.
Staff recommends that the Board approve and authorize the General Manager to utilize the competitively awarded University of California/OMNIA Partners Agreement No. 2021002889 with Fisher Scientific Company, LLC for laboratory equipment and supplies.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the contract:
• The initial term of the contract is from April 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025, with an option to renew for two (2) two-year periods, and a price increase not to exceed 10% for each year of the contract term.
• The contract includes the option to terminate or suspend for cause or convenience with advance written notice of intent.
In accordance with NRS 332.195.1 (c), a governing body or its authorized representative may enter into a contract pursuant to a solicitation by a cooperative purchasing organization with the authorization of the contracting vendor. Fisher Scientific Company, LLC has authorized the District to use this contract in order to take advantage of the competitive pricing offered to public agencies. Clark County Business License has determined that a business license or business registration is not required.
