BACKGROUND:
On January 3, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 606423-22 for Interlocal Agreement for Reevaluating Desert Upland Habitat Restoration Sites to Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education, on behalf of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (NBE) in the amount of $273,000 for reevaluating desert upland habitat restoration sites.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Agreement:
• The term of the Agreement was from date of award through June 24, 2025 and included a 6-month extension.
• Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Agreement with advanced written notice.
Approval of Amendment No. 1 will provide for changes to the Agreement term and deliverable due dates, as detailed in Appendix 1, revised per Amendment No. 1. The attached Amendment No. 1 document details the modifications involved.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 277.180. The parties are authorized to enter into interlocal contracts to perform governmental functions and activities.
