BACKGROUND:

On March 3, 1992, Clark County (County) and the Clark County School District (CCSD) entered into a cooperative agreement authorizing CCSD to construct Searchlight Elementary School on a portion of County land located on Assessor’s Parcel Number 243-35-601-003 and 243-35-501-004 addressed as 200 & 300 Michael Wendell Way, Searchlight, Nevada (Co-Op Agreement).

On December 6, 1994, the County and CCSD entered into a community access agreement providing for the occasional joint use, development and maintenance of various properties owned by the County and CCSD that superseded and terminated all prior existing agreements, including the Co-Op Agreement.

It is necessary for the County and CCSD to enter into an Interlocal Lease Agreement to restate the provisions of the Co-Op Agreement and outline the use, maintenance, development and leasehold terms between the parties.

Pursuant to NRS 277.050, the Board of Clark County Commissioners (Board) may lease County-owned real property to another public agency without consideration and without advertising for public bids on such terms as authorized by the Board after holding a public hearing at which objections by the public may be heard. The public hearing shall be set for May 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.

This item was presented to the County Long Range Planning Committee on April 10, 2024.
