BACKGROUND:
The District requires maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) supplies, parts, equipment, materials, and related services to support the daily operations of its treatment facilities and lift stations, which includes, but is not limited to, material handling, plumbing, welding, batteries, HVAC and safety supplies. To effectively maintain and repair facilities and equipment while ensuring continuous operation with minimal downtime, a readily available source of MRO supplies, parts, equipment, and materials is necessary.
On October 2, 2024, Omnia Partners/City of Tucson, AZ and its Authorized Body awarded Contract No. 240078- 01 for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Supplies, Parts, Equipment, Materials, and Related Services to W.W. Grainger, Inc. Utilizing this contract will fulfill the District's needs while leveraging negotiated volume discounts to reduce costs.
Staff recommends that the Board approve and authorize the General Manager to utilize the competitively awarded Omnia Partners/City of Tucson, AZ Contract No. 240078-01 for the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Supplies, Parts, Equipment, Materials, and Related Services, and to issue related purchase orders to W.W. Grainger, Inc. Staff will provide the Board with an annual report of incurred expenditures.
The following are pertinent provisions of the contract: • The initial term of the contract is from the date of the award through December 31, 2027; • The contract includes the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods and/or as extended by the lead agency, with an increase not to exceed 10% for each year of the contract term; • The contract includes the option to terminate or suspend for cause or convenience with advance written notice of intent.
In accordance with NRS 332.195.1 (c), a governing body or authorized representative may enter into a contract pursuant to a solicitation by a cooperative purchasing organization like Omnia Partners. W.W Grainger, Inc. has authorized the District to use this contract to take advantage of the competitive pricing and volume discounts offered to public agencies. W.W. Grainger, Inc., (LBE) holds a Clark County business license.
