BACKGROUND:
Under County Code 8.20.450, liquor stores are not allowed to be within 1,500 feet of a school or church, except that the Board has discretion to waive this requirement at a public hearing if the two uses are not less than five hundred feet apart.
Platinum Management Group 8 LLC, located at 3525 S. Fort Apache Rd., Suite 170, Las Vegas, NV 89147, submitted an application for preliminary determination of location suitability pursuant to Clark County Code 8.20.115. The proposed business location is located within 1,500 feet of Keith C. and Karen W. Hayes Elementary School located at 9620 W. Twain Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89147.
On December 2, 2025, Platinum Management Group 8 LLC submitted a request to waive the one thousand five-hundred-foot distance restriction to the school. The request asserts that, based on their certified survey measurements, the distance from the nearest entrance of Hayes Elementary School to the proposed business location at 3525 S Fort Apache Rd. is 1,398 feet.
