BACKGROUND: 

In order to preserve access to hospital services for needy individuals in the State of Nevada, the State's Medicaid hospital reimbursement system shall provide Graduate Medical Education (GME) supplemental payments to University Medical Center (UMC). In consideration of these payments, Clark County will make payment to the Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) in an amount equal to the federally required participation share of the total GME supplemental payments made to UMC beginning July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2029.



Amendment #1 changes the name of the State Department from Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health Care Financing and Policy to Nevada Health Authority per the 83rd Legislative Session- SB494 effective July 1, 2025.
