BACKGROUND: 

At the June 4, 2024, Board of County Commissioners’ meeting, the Board accepted the Mt. Charleston Town Advisory Board’s recommendations regarding the distribution of special license plate revenues for conservation programs and improvements for Fiscal Year 2025.

Pursuant to NRS 482.37935, the County may contract with an appropriate person or entity to use the Mt. Charleston special license plate revenues for conservation programs in support of the natural environment of the Mt. Charleston area.  The Board is asked to authorize the Chair to sign agreements with the Mt. Charleston Fire Protection District, also sitting as the Mt. Charleston Fire Protection District Board of Fire Commissioners, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and Nevada Highway Patrol.
