BACKGROUND:

On May 5, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners approved the submission of the FY 2020-2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and approved a project list submitted by Clark County Community Resources Management as well as authorized staff to submit the CDBG Pre-Award Approval Request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN) Journey Senior Services Center. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) subsequently approved the FY 2020-2024 CDBG CIP in June 2020.

Said funds will be used for the expansion and improvements of a current building located at 4323 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, NV 89121 to construct a Senior Services Center.  This project will include a dining hall, a commercial kitchen, route electricity to the DigiMart Food Pantry, and office space for the Supportive Services staff.
