The Contract amount was $4,000,000 in gross sales annually, Amendment No. 1 increased the Contract amount by $2,000,000, Amendment No. 2 increased the Contract amount by $4,800,000, Amendment No. 3 increased the Contract amount by $4,800,000, Amendment No. 4 increased the Contract amount by an additional $4,800,000 and Amendment 5 will increase the Contract amount by an additional $4,800,000 in annual gross sales, for a new Contract amount of $41,200,000 in gross sales should all renewal options be exercised. |
BACKGROUND:
On January 7, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of RFP No. 602832-12 to Aramark Correctional Services, LLC (LBE) in the amount of $4,000,000 in gross sales annually to provide commissary services to inmates at Detention Services Division (DSD).
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract: • The term of the Contract was from February 1, 2014 through June 30, 2018, and included the option to extend for an additional six (6) months. There are no renewal options remaining. • Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
Amendment No. 1 provided for an extension of the Contract term from January 1, 2019 through June 30, 2019.
Amendment No. 2 provided for an extension of the Contract term from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.
Amendment No. 3 provided for an extension of the Contract term from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021 on a month to month basis to allow for an upgrade to the jail management system interface, which needed to be completed before a new contract could be solicited.
Amendment No. 4 provided for an extension of the Contract term from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, on a month to month basis to allow for an upgrade to the jail management system interface, which was not completed due to COVID-19 and needs to be completed before a new contract can be solicited.
Approval of Amendment No. 5 will provide for an extension of the Contract term from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, on a month to month basis to allow for an upgrade to the jail management system interface, which was not completed due to COVID-19 and needs to be completed before a new contract can be solicited.
Aramark Correctional Services, LLC currently holds a Clark County Vendor Registration.
