BACKGROUND:

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), subtitle B of Title III, appropriated funds to state, local, and Tribal governments to provide emergency rental assistance to mitigate the fiscal effects stemming from the public health emergency as a result of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID 19).

Clark County was awarded $39 million under ARPA to continue assisting eligible households in Clark County with rent, rental arrears, utilities and home energy costs, and any arrears as set forth in Section 3201(d)(1)(A) of ARPA.

The Governor of the State of Nevada has determined that providing financial assistance to eligible households affected by the State of Public Health Emergency is necessary to prevent the eviction of households struggling financially, and has made funding available for the purpose of continuing to provide  financial assistance to eligible households to prevent the eviction of tenants.
