BACKGROUND:

On May 12, 2023, the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) released a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Regional Technology and Innovation Hubs program (Tech Hubs) designed to make place-based economic development investments that drive technology- and innovation-centric growth in communities like Clark County by strengthening a region’s capacity to commercialize, manufacture, and deploy critical technologies.  Tech Hubs will be administered in two phases with phase one focused on designation and/or strategy development and phase two focused on funding for implementation.  Clark County's application will focus on phase one Strategy Development grant.

Clark County's participation in the Tech Hubs program is in furtherance of the following strategic economic development goals: cultivate a fertile environment for small business and entrepreneurs, accelerate economic diversification, integrate the workforce ecosystem, mobilize stakeholders around a community-wide initiatives and ensure equitable access to resources.
