BACKGROUND:

The FEMA Public Assistance Grant is a pass through State grant which allows for a 100% reimbursement of eligible expenses for the Cashman Isolation-Quarantine Facility (Cashman ISO-Q) a 500-bed temporary observation facility dedicated to serving and for the purpose of providing treatment and monitoring homeless COVID-19 patients in need of quarantine or isolation, but not hospitalization.

Due to the short time frame between the grant announcement and submission date, the grant was submitted on September 4, 2020 prior to Board approval.

Acceptance of this funding will reimburse the eligible expenses incurred for the Cashman ISO-Q facility associated with the COVID-19 response.

Staff recommends that the Board ratify the submission of the grant application.
