BACKGROUND:

On June 11, 2024, during Nevada’s Primary Election, the United States conducted ADA surveys at eight (8) Clark County vote centers, including both publicly owned and privately owned facilities.  The United States observed violations of the ADA at each location, including van accessible parking not provided, van signage is not provided, ramps and sidewalks with slopes that exceed those allowable by the ADA, and entrance door thresholds that exceed those allowable by the ADA.  In advance of the 2024 General Election, Clark County reviewed and remedied the identified concerns.  The proposed Voluntary Compliance Agreement addresses the previously identified ADA violations and requires Clark County to take steps to ensure future ADA compliance specific to elections including revising policies and procedures, hiring an expert to review ADA compliance at vote centers, remediating physical barriers to access the voting process, and providing training to County staff and election workers relating to the ADA.
