BACKGROUND:
On September 6, 2016, the Board of County Commissioners approved a professional engineering services contract with CH2M Hill Engineers, Inc. for the evaluation of alternatives for pre-design of the elevated and at-grade limited access airport Outbound Elevated Expressway project (now known as the Tropicana Avenue/University Center Drive Grade Separation project). At the conclusion of the pre-design work, it was determined to proceed with a grade separated intersection at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Swenson Street, and an underpass at Paradise Road.
The Board previously approved two supplementals to the professional engineering services contract with CH2M Hill Engineers, Inc. Supplemental No. 1 provided for the final design of the grade separation structure and the underpass at Paradise Road. Subsequent analysis of alternatives and additional stakeholder input resulted in a grade separation of the Tropicana Avenue/University Center Drive with Tropicana Avenue being below-grade and University Center Drive remaining at-grade. Supplemental No. 2 provided engineering services for the design of the Tropicana Avenue below-grade alternative.
The attached Supplemental No. 3 to the professional services contract with CH2M Hill Engineers, Inc. is for the design of a pedestrian bridge, a bridge, and access to the TNC lot, additional geotechnical and ground water investigation, Intelligent Transportation System, and an Environmental Analysis required by the Federal Aviation Administration.
CH2M Hill Engineers, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the third supplemental contract as to form.
