BACKGROUND:
Clark County Social Service requests that the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approve the submission of the grant application to HUD for the Northern Nevada CoC HMIS Project; authorize the Deputy County Manager or her designee to sign the grant documents; and accept any grant funds awarded. This is a 12-month project with an opportunity to apply for an annual renewal as part of the CoC consolidated application.
On November 17, 2015, the Board approved submission of the grant application to HUD for the Northern Nevada CoC HMIS Project for $122,822. Notice from HUD that the 2015 application was selected for award was announced on March 8, 2016. On July 29, 2016, HUD executed the grant agreement for this project. Annually since 2016, Clark County has applied and been awarded the annual renewal for this project. This application is for the 8th renewal, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024.
As the HUD-designated statewide HMIS Lead, Clark County Department of Social Service is being requested to apply for the renewal grant to continue this project on behalf of the Northern Nevada CoC. This renewal application will continue to provide software licensing and administration to this CoC. Clark County Social Service will allocate funds to Bitfocus, our HMIS Administrator, to implement these activities. The HMIS used by Northern Nevada is also used locally and by the Rural Nevada/Balance of State CoC.
The Nevada Housing Division will provide ESG funds for match of $30,706 for this project. This project will be incorporated into the 2023 Northern Nevada consolidated application that is anticipated to be due to HUD in the Fall of 2023.
The item has been approved as to form by the District Attorney’s office.
