BACKGROUND:

In addition to the services required for public safety related to the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix race, the permittee, the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. ("LVGP") also requested additional services to be provided by the Clark County Fire Department ("CCFD") on the circuit during the race to provide emergency services for the drivers and pit crews, including fire suppression and medical services in the pit area. The services included providing CCFD personnel to staff five (5) Fast Intervention Vehicles ("FIV"), which will be staffed with two individuals hired by LVGP and two CCFD paramedics. CCFD personnel will also be used to staff four (4) Medical Intervention Vehicles ("MIV"), which will be staffed with a physician and two CCFD paramedics.  The staff for the FIV and MIV will be required to be the same CCFD personnel each day of the event.  In addition to the public safety services required for the race, which will also be reimbursement by LVGP pursuant to Clark County Code 13.04, Table 106-G.1, the Letter of Agreement requires LVGP to reimburse Clark County for the actual costs for the training and additional services to be provided by CCFD on the circuit during the race and the pit area.
