Teleport Communications America, LLC would be responsible for remitting to the County fees collected from its retail customers based on 5% of intrastate revenue pursuant to Chapter 6.13 of the Clark County Code. |
BACKGROUND:
Teleport Communications America, LLC submitted an application for a telecommunication franchise agreement with the County to be able to construct, operate and maintain a telecommunication system within certain unincorporated areas of Clark County. Pursuant to NRS 709.070, this application was accepted by the Board on September 2, 2025.
In accordance with NRS 709.070, public notice has been published in a local newspaper for four consecutive weeks and posted in a public location in the unincorporated towns affected at least ten days before the public hearing. The Board is requested to hold a public hearing on October 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to receive comments or objections to consider awarding a telecommunications franchise to provide telecommunication services in certain unincorporated areas of Clark County.
Following the public hearing, the Board is requested to approve the attached Telecommunications System Franchise Agreement with Teleport Communication America, LLC.
