BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Residential Streets Pavement Reconstruction No. 105 project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax for Fiscal Year 2025.

Interlocal Contract No. 3194 provides funds for construction of the subject project. The project consists of excavating existing pavement material, repairing base failures as needed by replacing with Type II aggregate and re-compacting the subgrade materials, and placing three to four inches of new asphalt concrete pavement on various residential streets within Clark County. It also includes the widening of existing roadway pavement in various residential rural preservation areas; removing and replacing concrete sidewalk panels, curb and gutter, and spandrels/cross gutters at locations shown on the plans; bringing sidewalk ramps up to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards; installing drainage curb and valley gutters; the reconstruction of multiple storm drain drop-inlet top slabs and grate openings; the adjustment of manholes and water valves among other appurtenances; removing and replacing pavement markings, striping and traffic signs, traffic loops; the installation of traffic conduit; and other related items of work. All necessary right-of-way to construct the project has been obtained, and Clark County is ready to advertise the project for construction. The time of performance is effective until December 31, 2029, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on November 14, 2024.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
