BACKGROUND: 

Pursuant to NRS 474.470 the Board of Fire Commissioners has the authority to adopt rules and regulations with respect to fire prevention.  This resolution will allow the Fire Chief to issue fire restriction orders to mitigate the risk of wildfires when the Fire Chief determines that the atmospheric conditions or local circumstances make open burning hazardous. The fire restriction orders will apply to property located within the Mount Charleston Fire Protection District as stated in Clark County Code 3.22.020.
