BACKGROUND:

The Desert Inn Traffic Signal Upgrades project is a cooperative effort between Clark County and Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), of which NDOT intends to delegate authority to the County to design, advertise and manage construction of the traffic signal upgrade project on Desert Inn Road between Oneida Way and Sandhill Road.  The project includes upgrading seven (7) intersections with Flashing Yellow Arrows (FYA), audible/tactile pedestrian buttons, yellow reflective borders, Global Position Systems (GPS) emergency preemption and dedicated short range communications.

The total project cost is $3,157,895, which has been approved for 95% Federal Congressional Designated funding.  The County is required to pay a 5% match in the amount of $157,895 as part of the total project cost.  The attached Cooperative (local public agency) Highway Agreement No. PR491-23-063 formalizes this requirement and identifies the responsibilities of both the County and NDOT.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the cooperative agreement as to form.
