BACKGROUND:

On May 2, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners received a status report of the grade separated intersection at Tropicana Avenue and University Center Drive. The update provided information on the level of design completion, and an updated construction cost estimate. The cost had escalated substantially from the original budget. The update report recommended a modification to the design which could reduce the estimated construction cost by $80 million.

Supplemental No. 4 to the professional engineering services contract will provide additional fees to modify the project design to reduce construction costs due to cost escalation, and extend the time of performance to December 31, 2028, unless further time extensions are granted.

CH2M Hill Engineers, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the fourth supplemental contract as to form.
