BACKGROUND:
The Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) provides a vehicle for citizen participation in the County's U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant programs. The Committee works with staff to develop project selection priorities, review proposals, hold public hearings, and make funding recommendations.
Committee composition includes: seven (7) at-large members representing general community concerns and one (1) representative from each member of the County's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) Consortia including the Cities of North Las Vegas, Mesquite, and Boulder City.
The Commission appoints the seven (7) at-large members. Seven (7) candidates for these positions are being presented for approval: Eric Jeng, Monica Gresser, Geraldine Ramirez, Donna Darden, Derek A. Rimson, Nancy Matheny, and April Stewart. All members are appointed to serve two-year terms, from 12/1/2026 through 11/30/2028.
The Cities of North Las Vegas, Boulder City, and Mesquite are authorized to make their own respective appointments, who serve in an ex-officio manner. The appointees for the Cities will be made at future meetings.
It is recommended that Mr. Eric Jeng serve as CDAC Chair and Ms. Monica Gresser serve as Vice-Chair.
