BACKGROUND:

On May 5, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners approved the submission of FY2020-2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), approved a project list, and authorized staff to submit the CDBG Pre-Award Approval Request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and subsequently approved the FY 2020-2024 CDBG CIP.

The CIP included an allocation of $1,489,037 to Nevada Health Centers for the expansion of the Martin Luther King (MLK) Health Center located at 1799 Mount Mariah Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89106. Due to increased costs, additional funding of $314,360 was approved on July 19, 2020, by the BCC and will be reallocated to the project from administrative cost savings.

This capital improvement project will involve an addition that will create space for a dedicated pharmacy and behavioral health treatment offices.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved this item as to form.
