BACKGROUND:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced the FY2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) Program, which provides funding to local fire departments to enhance the safety of the public and firefighting personnel by reducing fire and fire-related hazards.

The Clark County Fire Department submitted an application requesting funding to replace an aging aerial truck that has reached the end of its useful service life.

Due to the limited timeframe between the grant announcement and the application deadline, staff submitted the grant application to FEMA by June 22, 2026, deadline prior to obtaining Board approval to ensure the County remained eligible for funding.

Staff recommends that the Board ratify the submission of the attached grant application.
