BACKGROUND:

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant will fund a pilot program for individuals exiting the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) and in need of behavioral health, substance use disorder, and/or homeless services. The Clark County Social Service (CCSS) CCDC CARE team will partner with Vegas Stronger to administer the pilot. Key program focus will offer assessments, recovery services, and referrals to community services. The program model will utilize evidence-based practices such as trauma-informed care, harm reduction and crisis intervention modalities within the context of case management and behavioral health services. The goal of the collaboration between CCDC CARE and Vegas Stronger will be to reduce recidivism of frequent users experiencing mental health, substance use disorders, and homelessness.

The initial grant period runs from 9/30/2023 through 9/29/2024.
