The initial Contract amount was $126,670,931.44, Amendment No. 1 increased the Contract amount by $2,239,045.30. Amendment No. 2 decreased the Contract amount by $2,517,175.65. Amendment No. 3 increased the Contract amount by $231,323.00. Amendment No. 4 increased the Contract amount by $4,331,083, Amendment No. 5 will increase the Contract amount by $16,818,318 for a new total Contract amount of $147,773,525.09 should all renewal options be exercised. |
BACKGROUND:
On May 7, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of RFP No. 604962-18 for Inmate Health Care Services for Clark County Detention Center to Wellpath, LLC (LBE) in the amount of $126,670,931.44 for inmate health care services.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract was from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2022 and included the option to renew for 2, one-year periods. There are no renewal options remaining. • Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
Amendment No. 1 provided for additional positions and negotiated a price increase.
Amendment No. 2 adjusted Provider Responsibilities, added a Pharmacy program utilizing 340B pricing, and replaced pages in Attachments included in Exhibit A.
Amendment No. 3 adjusted the average daily population, on Attachment No. 1, replaced Attachment No. 2 in its entirety and added Attachment No. 3 to Exhibit A.
Amendment No. 4 added additional pharmacy staff, mental health staff, and reporting requirements to Clark County Detention Center. Attachment 1, Attachment 2, and Attachment 3 were replaced in their entirety and Exhibit E Daily Staffing Report and Exhibit F Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program was added.
Approval of Amendment No. 5 will extend the Contract term on a month-to-month basis through December 31, 2024 and increase the MAT and ADP numbers. The attached Amendment No. 5 document details the modifications and costs involved.
Wellpath, LLC currently holds a Clark County Vendor Registration.
