BACKGROUND:
The three centrate pumps and building drain located in the Solids Dewatering Facility at the Flamingo Water Resource Center are not sufficiently sized to handle future capacity requirements. This project will replace the existing pumps and upsize the drain line (from 4-inches to 12-inches in diameter) to accommodate future centrate and acid flows.
A request for bids was published on August 15, 2024 in the Las Vegas Review Journal, advertised on the Nevada Government Marketplace (NGEM), and posted on the District’s website. Bids were received and publicly opened on October 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Three bids were received:
BIDS RECEIVED BID AMOUNT
MMC, Inc $3,138,747
Harber Company, Inc. $3,930,000
J.A. Tiberti Construction Co., Inc. $5,258,614
In accordance with NRS 338.1385(5), if the governing body or its authorized representative has advertised for or requested bids in letting a contract, the governing body or its authorized representative must award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
Staff recommends the Board approve the selection of MMC, Inc., and authorize the General Manager to sign a contract with MMC, Inc., as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. MMC, Inc. holds a Clark County business license.
