BACKGROUND: 

In order to preserve access to hospital services for needy individuals in the State of Nevada, the State’s Medicaid hospital reimbursement system shall provide Graduate Medical Education (GME) supplemental payments to University Medical Center (UMC).  In consideration of these payments, Clark County will make payments to Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) in an amount equal to the federally required participation share of the total Graduate Medical Education (GME) supplemental payments made to University Medical Center (UMC).  

On March 16, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners authorized the interlocal contract from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2023.  This amendment will extend the term of the contract through June 30, 2025.
