Detection and Mitigation of COVID in Confinement Facilities

BACKGROUND: 

Clark County Department of Juvenile Justice Services (DJJS) has solicited funding from the State of Nevada DHHS to provide services that would assist with detection and mitigation efforts related to COVID-19 in Detention and Spring Mountain Youth Camp (SMYC) divisions at DJJS.

This grant funding enables DJJS to enhance communication and technology systems within Detention and SMYC, and ensure youth residing in these facilities engage with their families, extended support systems, and other system partners while limiting exposure and following safe practices for the prevention of spreading COVID-19.  These funds would also be utilized for personal protective equipment (PPE) and deep cleaning services. 

The State has made the grant award contingent upon the submission of a signed Notice of Subaward (NOSA).  DJJS requests the Board ratify and accept the submittal of the NOSA and accept any funds awarded.
