BACKGROUND:
NRS 258.040 provides that the Board of County Commissioners shall fix the minimum compensation of the Clark County Constables within their respective townships for the ensuing term. Thereafter, the Board may increase or change such compensation during the term but shall not reduce the minimum so established. Staff recommends that the Board approve the minimum salary paid in 26 equal installments for the term commencing on January 4, 2027 as follows:

The Board of County Commissioners at their meeting on July 20, 2010, voted to eliminate longevity pay for the newly elected Constables elected in the November 2, 2010 election and any election or initial appointment thereafter. For Constables first elected prior to November 2, 2020, eligibility for longevity pay will be retained.
